At Corpus Christi School, our first priority is to our children, so that they receive a high quality education where enjoyment and enrichment are at the core of their learning experience. We aim to ensure that they have a love of learning for life as well as helping them to grow into confident and well-rounded individuals. Our values and ethos have been devised by the whole school community, including staff, governors, parents and children, and are based on the idea of the school community being part of a FAMILY (faith, aspiration, motivation, independence, love, you are unique). These key values reflect those elements special to a Corpus Christi child.
Our vision is of a place where everyone loves to be. Our wellbeing is a big part of this as it affects how we relate, interact, learn and grow. Ultimately, the day-to-day ethos and approach we have at our school has an impact on the wellbeing of all of us, therefore at Corpus Christi, we strive to promote wellbeing through some of our strategic goals. The goals that promote wellbeing are; that we be the best we can be, we are all in this together and that we take care of ourselves and each other.
Five Steps to Wellbeing
Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but 10th October is a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own well being. During the week we will be discussing mental well being with the children in a manner that is suitable for their age and reinforcing strategies already in place at school, such as the RULER project and Safe Spaces to help them tackle any difficulties that arise.
The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families has produced a very helpful leaflet to help parents and carers giving useful hints and tips on how to approach the subject with children.
